Planaltina is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Goiás, located in the East Region of the state. It belongs to the Luziânia–Águas Lindas de Goiás Intermediate Geographic Region and the Águas Lindas de Goiás Immediate Geographic Region.
The municipality is part of the Integrated Development Region of the Federal District and Surroundings (RIDE). It is the 14th largest city in Goiás and the 5th largest in the Surroundings of the Federal District. It is also nicknamed “Brasilinha” and “Planaltina de Goiás”, the latter because it borders the part of Planaltina that separated from the territory of Goiás in the 1960s to form Administrative Region VI of the Federal District.
